Journal 12: Drafting Prompts

I’m basing my genre compositions on the issue of climate change. The main message of the compositions is that climate change/global warming is a real problem and that it needs to be addressed. I plan to address college aged students, middle age professionals, and adolescents. I will address college students by putting posts related to the topic on the FSU class of 20__ social media pages for each class. I will bring the issue to the attention of middle aged professionals with flyers. I will go and distribute the flyers at my mom’s meeting for a club that she’s in that connects young professionals in my hometown area. I will connect with adolescents on the issue by making an Instagram page related to different parts of the issue, including statistics, facts, and pictures. The Facebook post will be effective for students because the students that are part of the “FSU class of 20__” pages get automatic notifications when something is posted to that page. Because they get a notification, they’ll feel compelled to look at it. The flyer will be effective for the middle age professionals because if a flyer is designed well, it catches people’s eyes. Handing it out to these people will be great for networking, because that’s what this club is for. Lastly, the Instagram page will be effective because adolescents, for the most part, are obsessed with Instagram. Making a page on Instagram would reach many people in that age group. I really hope that I can create change throughout this project. Audience: Adolescents College students (young adults) Middle-age professionals
