Journal 5: Catching up

The biggest challenge in writing this paper for me has been the topic I choose. As I dove into my topic more and more, I realized that it was a very narrow topic to deal with. I choose to write about a specific animated TV show and talk about how it breaks the rules of the animated genre. I had never actually watched this show much, but I thought that it was a lot dirtier than it is. After I did some research and watched more episodes, I realized that it's really not as bad as I had thought. So, if I were to write this paper again, I would put more thought into the process of choosing my topic. This would help a lot because when you have a good topic, you can get good evidence, and when you have good evidence, it is a lot easier to write a good quality paper. If I had the opportunity to write this paper again, I would probably choose a more broad topic, such as an author that is known for genre bending and talk about his or her different works. Overall, I just need to learn to put a lot more thought into the beginnings of a paper, not just the actual writing.
