Journal 6: Researching the research process

I do lots of research in my everyday life. Research is the only way to make good, informed decisions, even if it is just a quick google search. The times that I have found myself using research the most is when I’m about to make a very big purchase, such as my laptop, or my car. When I’m making these big decisions I feel as though I should be armed with knowledge. Some of the things that I wanted to know were how long it’ll last, its price, popularity, etc. When I was doing some research on which laptop to buy, I found most of the information I needed on the BestBuy website, I also asked my uncle what types he liked because he’s a cyber security consultant for huge companies. I found this source to be dependable because they sell pretty much any laptop that’s made, so they would be less biased in helping me make my decision. I think that my research process will really help me in my academic research process, because I worked hard to find unbiased, trustworthy sources, I took information from them but I didn’t just automatically believe everything they said, and I cross referenced what the website said with what my uncle told me to fact check.
